CourseSpaces allows a variety of ways to add course content. Resources are items a student can read or view to support learning, such as a file or a link to an external website.

Resource types:

Book: Enables the instructor to create a multi-page resource in a book-like format with chapters and subchapters. Books can contain media files as well as text and are useful for displaying lengthy passages that can be broken down into sections.

Folder: Enables the instructor to display related files to be placed inside a single folder, thereby reducing scrolling on the course page.

Label: Enables the instructor to insert text and multimedia into the course main page in between links to other resources and activities. Labels are very versatile and can help to improve the appearance of a course. For example, a label with a subheading can be used to split up a long list of activities.

Lightbox Gallery: Enables the instructor to uploads a gallery of images for students to view.

Page: Enables the instructor to create an online page using the text editor. A page can display text, images, sound, video, web links, and embedded code, such as Google maps.

Single File: Enables the instructor to upload a single file such as a PDF.

Link to website: Enables the instructor to provide an external web link as a course resource. Anything that is freely available online, such as a website, can be linked to.

Special Note:

    • Maximum file upload size in CourseSpaces is 128MB. If your file is larger than 128MB, you will need to break it into two or more files, if possible.
