Submit a File

Your instructor may set up an assignment with a place for you to submit a file or files. If your instructor has created an assignment, but you cannot upload a file, please contact your instructor directly.

  • File Size: CourseSpaces allows you upload all kinds of file types (Word, PDF, audio, video) as long as the file size does not exceed 128MB. If your file exceeds this limit, you must contact your instructor for instructions on how to get the file to them (outside of CourseSpaces).
  • File Naming: Your filename should not include any special characters such as # @ ! $ % ^ & * ( )

1. Click the assignment. The assignment summary page appears where you can view any details your instructor may have provided, the due date, and the submission status.

2. Click the Add submission button to upload your assignment file by dragging and dropping your file as illustrated below. You can also browse for your file on your computer by clicking the icon with the page and + sign then click on Browse. Select the file from your computer then upload the file.

The options available to you may vary depending on the assignment settings.

3. Click the Save changes button to add your submission to the assignment.

The submission status page appears showing details such as your grade status, submission file(s), assignment due date and time remaining, and date/time of when you last modified your submission. Depending on the options selected by your instructor you may be able to make additional changes (adding or changing a file, editing text) before submitting your assignment.

N.B. Your instructor may require you to click the Submit assignment button to submit the final version of your assignment. Until you do this, your file is considered a draft that is not yet submitted. Once you click this you will not be able to delete or attach additional file(s).
